A week to go before the opening of the the 12th edition of Contemporary Istanbul, 14-17th September 2017. It has been a busy year with the revisiting of the fair’s design by award-winning Tabanlıoğlu Architects and the hosting over 70 galleries of which more than 20 have recently joined.

The fair spreads over the 13,600m2 of the Lütfi Kırdar ICEC Rumeli Hall and Istanbul Congress Centre and for the first time this year, expands outdoors with Istanbul’s first ever contemporary sculpture garden entitled The Fifth Element, at the Sanatçılar Park adjacent to the fair, curated by Prof. Hasan Bülent Kahraman.

Participating artists at sculpture park include: Erdağ Aksel, Fabian Marcaccio, Genco Gülan, Günnür Özsoy, Jan Fabre, Jannis Kounellis, Johan Tahon, Magdalena Abakanowicz, Osman Dinç, Tony Cragg and Yaşam Şaşmazer.
